Square really needs to address this issue as at this time Cure on Paladin is almost irrelevant. Curing for only a few hundred isn't enough to even attempt to keep myself alive with at any given time. You may have noticed I have not really gone in to self heals for enmity and that is because as a Paladin self healing is atrocious. In between weaponskills, I am always looking for a chance to stun or interrupt the enemy with Shield Bash and using Shield Swipe to weaponskill heavy enemies inflicting them with Pacification to keep them from using those skill. I will then rotate my damage mitigation abilities in as needed depending on how hard and how often I am taking considerable damage.

This typically gives me enough of an enmity boost to allow me to effectively keep hate from the top damage dealers in our Linkshell / Free Company. To finish off my opening rotation I typically use Flash on the enemy then roll in to the Fast Blade > Savage Blade > Rage of Halone combo. Once the enemy is close to enough I used Circle of Skorn, Spirits Within, and Provoke in that order. Once close enough I use Shield Lob to draw the enemy in to battle. I start things off with using Shield Oath and then open up the fight by using "Fight or Flight" and running in to the battlefield. I will provide the opening rotation I use in practically every major fight. It also helps when he spams Tumult over and over in phase 3.īottom Row: Action Bar Three (Left to Right) If a block kicks in on this its cuts the damage down to a little over 1000. Later in the Naval (Hard) fight titan will use an ability that hits a very well geared tank for around 4000 damage. The Darksteel Scutum (HQ) will still be very useful in fights like Titan (hard). Overall in terms of Block Strength, Block Rate, and Mitigated Damage the Holy Shield +1 is the best shield any Paladin can carry. Now you might be thinking just go for the Darksteel Scutum / Darksteel Scutum +1, but is is important to remember that while the Block Strength affects how much damage you mitigate, Block Rate determines how often you actually block. Putting this exact same amount in to vitality would provide you with an additional 971 hit point to your current total. In order to reach the 404 Tier you would need to add 67 more points in to Strength (if you are at the 337 Tier). I will add that if you manage to get your strength to 404 you will add an extra 1% damage mitigated to the totals above. Your primary goal should be to get your strength to 337 and then get your Vitality as high as possible.
